What is a legal translation?

Legal translation in the context of submitting official documents in the UAE, refers to what is sometimes known as “official“, “attested” or “sworn” translations in other parts of the world.

 In a few words, legal translation allows you to use those specific documents safely for any official purpose in the UAE. 

According to the UAE Ministry of Justice guidelines. Most of the documents that require legal translation issued outside of the UAE and are meant to be used for official reasons in any UAE official authority, must have an official stamp from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

MoFA applies the stamp only on the documents with the condition that it has also been attested and stamped by the UAE Mission in the country where the document is originally from. For some documents, MoFA may also accept translations attested/stamped by the Consulate or Embassy of the originating country in the UAE.
