With the restructuring of its entry and residence systems, the UAE is determined to become the ideal destination for work, investment, entrepreneurship, education, and life. Here is the updated list of NEW RULES for UAE visas for your guide:
ENTRY PERMITS
- TOURIST VISA
- For Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah: Visa is valid only for 30 or 60 days.
2. VISIT VISA FOR: RELATIVES/ FRIENDS (30/60) DAYS
- Sponsor required.
- Provide proof of relationship.
- Ejari copy is required.
3. EXPLORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES (60/90/120) DAYS
- Must be a skilled worker (bachelor’s degree)
- Must be a graduate of the top 500 universities in the world
4. SEARCH FOR INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES (60/90/120) days
Easy entry to explore investment and business opportunities without requiring a host/sponsor in the UAE
5. TRUCK DRIVERS: 30/60/90 days
It is presented to truck drivers who cross by trucks and is provided by (General Services) on the Immigration website
6. STUDY AND TRAINING (30/60/180) DAYS
7. MEDICAL TREATMENT (180) DAYS
HUMANITARIAN CASES
In all residence visas and residence of family members … the age of the (son) has been modified to 25 years old. Holders of golden residence may sponsor their family members (without the need to request a humanitarian case) and they are (Husband, wife, son (without age requirement), daughter, father, mother)
DEPOSITS
- Work visas for categories not subject to the law regulating labor relations for workers in free zones
- and tourist facilities: 1,000AED.
- Entry visa for a single visit: 1,000 AED
- Entry visa for multiple visits: 2,000 AED
- Multiple 5-year tourist visa: 3,000 AED
- Financial guarantee for housekeeper/personal workers (Expat sponsor): 2,000 AED
- Family Holding: 5,000 AED
- Humanitarian cases 5,000 with a maximum of 15,000 AED
- Financial guarantee for the investor’s family: 3,000 AED with a maximum of 15,000 AED
- Guarantee of subscription to the electronic system: 1,000 AED.
RESIDENCY AND GREEN VISA UPDATES
The period of residence for all categories of workers, investors, and their dependents has been determined for 2 years only.
Green Visa (Investor/Partner)
It is granted to registered individuals (as an owner – or an investor – or a partner) on the establishment card inside the country who has shares not less than 1 million AED.
Green Visa (Skilled Employees)
- Granted to skilled workers according to the classification of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Level 1 or 2).
- While submitting an application to the system, when placing a profession, the system automatically accepts or rejects the application.
- This type depends only on skilled professionals only.
Green Visa (Freelancer):
- This residency is granted to freelancers who have a work permit from MOHRE.
- Proof of income (the minimum income during the last 2 years should be a total of 360,000 AED.
- Have a bachelor’s degree (University)
Please note that the green visa is not yet implemented physically, and the provided information is not clear.
STAYING IN THE COUNTRY ADJUSTMENTS IN THE EVENT OF EXPIRY OF RESIDENCE – THE CANCELLATION OF RESIDENCE
A period of (180) days of stay in the country after the cancellation or expiry of the residence permit has been granted to the following categories:
- Golden residency holders and their family members
- Green residency holders and their family members
- The widow of a foreigner residing in the country or divorced
- Students studying after the end of their studies
- Skilled professions of the first and second levels in the classification of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation
A period of (90) days of stay in the country after the revocation or expiry of residence has been granted to the following categories:
- Skilled professions of the third level in the classification of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation
- Real estate owners
A period of (60) days of stay in the country after the revocation or expiry of residence has been granted to the following categories:
- Other residences issued with a sponsor or host
A period of (30) days of stay in the country after the revocation or expiry of residence has been granted to the following categories:
- The rest of the categories such as (disasters and wars, foreign pensioner, virtual work, investor or partner
OVERSTAY FINES
The overstay fine amount per day has been changed from 25 dirhams to 50 dirhams per day.

I have aponsored my family as residence here in the UAE, my ViSA is in Dubai. My dependents are in the Philippines since October, their VISA will still be active if they stay there beyond 6months before they comeback to uae? or is there possibility to prolonged their stay without revocation of their visa?

The Visa will be canceled if a UAE resident stays outside the country for more than 180 days.
