How to obtain a BIRTH CERTIFICATE for your NEW BORN in the UAE? 👶 🍼 🇦🇪
We all know that living in the UAE brings with it a lot of paperwork and of course having a baby is no exception. Along with all the other things that need planning with the baby’s arrival, it can be easy to overlook some legal aspects such as potential fines or even the risk to not be allowed to leave the country without having all the required paperwork!
Follow the below steps for the birth certificate issuance & attestation in the UAE & DO IT YOURSELF:
⚠️You have 30 days after your child’s birth to obtain the birth certificate in Arabic & English.
The documents you will need are: birth certificate issuance
1. Birth notification (white copy) – received from the hospital where the baby was born
2. Passport + visa page of new born’s mother & father (original & copy)
3. Emirates ID of new born’s mother & father (original & copy)
4. Marriage certificate of baby’s parents – MOFA attested (original & copy)
🖊STEPS TO FOLLOW:
1️⃣ Go to the Birth Certificate Office at the Preventive Medicine Department at Al Baraha Hospital (also known as Kuwaiti Hospital);
2️⃣ Complete the application form and provide the supporting documents above mentioned along with the baby’s name;
3️⃣ Collect the Arabic birth certificate;
4️⃣ Submit the Arabic birth certificate at the typing center (within the hospital) for the English version(s);
5️⃣ Take both the Arabic & English versions to the Ministry of Health counter within the hospital to be attested;
6️⃣ Take the Arabic & English versions to the MOFA to be attested:
6️⃣.1️⃣ It is advisable to attest only the Arabic birth certificate if the baby belongs to Arabic nationality and the certificate will be used only within the territory of Arabic countries;
6️⃣.2️⃣ If the baby belongs to another nationality, other than Arabic and the certificate will not be used on the territory of Arabic countries, it is advisable to get attested only the English version of the birth certificate;
7️⃣ With the freshly attested birth certificate you can easily apply for the baby’s passport.
