GREAT NEWS – now FTA portal has introduced (free of charge) a new option for obtaining the Clearance Certificate applicable to the below 4 cases:

Companies relied on the tax returns and outstanding payments as per the portal to ascertain liabilities under acquisitions, liquidations & bankruptcy procedures, and deregistration procedures for below voluntary and mandatory thresholds.

Companies relied on the tax returns and outstanding payments as per the portal to ascertain liabilities under acquisitions, liquidations & bankruptcy procedures, and deregistration procedures for below voluntary and mandatory thresholds.
This has been made easy with the introduction of the clearance certificate option available on the FTA portal.
The Voluntary Threshold to register for VAT in UAE
Conditions:
Value of Sales exceeds AED 187,500
– In the previous 12 Months
– Anticipated to exceed in next 30 days during the current financial year
The Mandatory Threshold to Register for VAT in the UAE
Conditions:
Value of Sales exceeds AED 375,000
– In the previous 12 Months
– Anticipated to exceed in the next 30 days during the current financial year.
Before applying for the certificate, kindly insure to provide the following document(s):
- In case the certificate is requested under the reason of changing the ownership, a Sale Contract is required.
- In case the certificate is requested under the reason for closing business, please provide document proofing that you have initiated the process of closing your business (if available).
Upload documentary proof to support your selected reason
Please upload a Financial document showing the turnover from the date of de-registration till today’s date
Follow the below steps to obtain your registered company’s clearance certificate from FTA
- Login to your company’s e-services account
- Click on tab 9 “Clearance Certificate”
- Select “Request for clearance certificate”
- Select your License number from the drop-down list
- Select the reason for what you need the certificate:
1) Ownership change
2) Business closure
3) Below the Voluntary threshold
4) Below the Mandatory threshold - Support your selected reason within the comments section
- Click on the submit button after reviewing the selected values in the above cells
