Value of Supplies / Taxable expenses exceeds AED 187,500
– In the previous 12 Months
– Anticipated to exceed in next 30 days
– The Mandatory Threshold to register for VAT in UAE
Conditions:
Value of Supplies / Taxable expenses exceeds AED 375,000
– In the previous 12 Months
– Anticipated to exceed in next 30 days
Registration Guidelines:
1. Go to www.eservices.tax.gov.ae .
2. Select e-Services account with the email id. This email id will receive all the notifications from the FTA in the future. You will need to verify the account for activation. Once done, you can start the process for VAT registration.
3. Once logged in into your e-Services account you will see a button inviting you to Register for VAT. Follow the guide as soon as you click on Register for VAT button.
4. There are 8 sections that must be completed on the VAT registration form. Your progress will be shown each step of the way (denoted in brown) with each completed section shown in blue with a green tick mark.
You will need to provide the following documents for the registration process:
• Trade License copy of the business
• Owners – Emirates IDs, Passport copies and Trade License in case the owner is a company
• Articles of Association or Partnership Agreement or similar documents which shows the ownership information of the business, Memorandum of Association
• Manager – Passport Copy, Emirates ID Copy
• Business Contact details – Complete Address, Phone Number
• Banking details – location, IBAN, GIBAN , BIC, Bank Name, Branch Name, Account holder name
• Turnover for the last 12 months and expected turnover in the next 30 days and documents such as Signed Turnover statement (Format available on FTA website) and bank statement for the last twelve months, One stamped and signed sample invoice from each of the last 12 months of sales.
• Authorized Signatory – Passport copy, Emirates ID Copy, Mobile Number, Authorization Documents
5. To submit the VAT registration form, carefully review all the information entered on the form after clicking on Save and Review.
6. Once you are certain that all the information is correct, click on the Submit for Approval button at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
7. Federal Tax Authority takes up to 20 business days to assess the registration request and confirm approval status.
