Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) has unveiled the Base 39 Creative Accelerator, a new initiative aimed at nurturing emerging creative talent in design-driven industries. The program supports participants in developing, prototyping, and scaling product-focused creative ventures.
The accelerator is based at Base 39, SPARK’s recently inaugurated creative hub, which serves as a collaborative platform for designers, architects, artists, and creative entrepreneurs. The hub integrates design, experimentation, fabrication, and business development in one ecosystem, helping creatives bring their concepts to market-ready products.
Participants in the accelerator will have the chance to win cash prizes for the top three graduates, along with in-kind prototyping support, creative incentives, official recognition, and exposure within SPARK’s innovation ecosystem.
This new program builds on SPARK’s previous success with sector-specific accelerators, such as the Sharjah Advanced Industries Accelerator, which focuses on advanced manufacturing and deep technology innovation.
Focus Areas and Program Benefits
The first cohort of the accelerator will concentrate on Furniture and Collectible Design, helping participants develop commercially viable products while maintaining design integrity and craftsmanship.
Selected creatives will receive:
- Mentorship from designers, industry leaders, and experts
- Support in product development, prototyping, and production readiness
- Guidance on pricing, branding, positioning, and storytelling
- Access to prototyping and fabrication facilities
- Opportunities to connect with buyers, collectors, and potential partners
The program starts with an Open Call for applications, selecting 20 designers or studios to participate in a structured journey of mentorship, workshops, and hands-on development. It concludes with a Final Showcase Day, where participants present their work to a jury of industry professionals and potential collaborators.
