The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council is responsible for the development of Abu Dhabi Emirate’s Quality Infrastructure, which enables Industry and regulators to ensure that products, systems and personnel can be tested and certified according to UAE and International Standards.
Certified products by QCC receive the Abu Dhabi Trustmark or Registration Certificate. The Certificate and the Trustmark of the QCC are designed to communicate that a product or system conforms to various health, safety, performance and environmental standards that set by Abu Dhabi regulators.
Cosmetic Products Regulation in Abu Dhabi
Registration Scheme is applicable to all cosmetic products and related products which are being sold and/or distributed in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi.
How to Register your Cosmetics and related products with Abu Dhabi QCC?
Applicants must register firs in QCC Jawdah website before uploading all the application for certification documentation.
In Addition, the applicant shall provide following :
- Valid UAE Trade License
- Authorization Letter from the Manufacturer to deal with the product(s) seeking certification (if applying on the manufacturer’s behalf).
- A Compete “Oath of Undertaking” for it’s application for registration of it’s cosmetics products.
Specific Requirements:
- An accomplished application form with a maximum of 25 products per application
- A valid approval of ESMA’s requirements (valid ECAS Certification)
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as per the approved standard UAE.S GSO ISO 22716 or any valid Quality Management System as acceptable by QCC and its future amendments (e.g. valid ISO9001 Certification)
- Certificate of Analysis from manufacturer
- Test Report from accredited testing laboratory (valid within 1 year); if deemed necessary, provide sample/s of the cosmetic product to be submitted to a recognized laboratory for verification testing.
- Free Sale Certificate on the Manufacturer letterhead
- A Copy of a Certificate of Origin (if not indicated in the Free Sale Certificate for its Country of Origin)
Validity of Product Registration
The Registration of Cosmetic products valid for a period of 3 years from the time of the registration. Provided that, following changes shall require a new product registration:
- Any change in formulation, which affect the function and safety of the product; or
- Any change in product claims
