UAE CORPORATE TAX REGISTRATION: All taxable persons, including Free Zone Persons, must complete the registration process for Corporate Tax and obtain a unique Corporate Tax Registration Number prior to submitting their initial corporate tax returns.

In addition, the Federal Tax Authority may also request specific Exempt Persons to undergo the registration process for Corporate Tax.

UAE branches of domestic juridical persons are not obligated to register or submit separate filings for UAE Corporate Tax, as they are considered extensions of their primary “parent” or “head office” and are not regarded as independent legal entities.

How to register for Corporate Tax in the UAE?

To register for corporate tax in the UAE, you’ll need to follow the procedures outlined by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). Here are the general steps to register for corporate tax in the UAE:

1. Login/ Create an e-Services account

  • Visit the FTA’s official website and login into the EmaraTax account using your login credentials or using UAE Pass. Sign up for a new account if you don’t already have one. This account will be used for all tax-related activities.

2. Create your taxable person or select the relevant taxable person from the taxable person list

3.  Provide company information

  • Fill out the necessary forms and provide information about your company.

4. Submit the registration application

  • Complete the online registration application through your e-Services account. Ensure that all the required fields are filled accurately.

5. Wait for verification

  • The FTA will review your application and may request additional information or documents. They will verify the provided information and may conduct any necessary checks.

6. Receive Corporate Tax Registration Number

  • Once your application is approved, you will receive a corporate Tax Registration Number as per the UAE Corporate tax law.

7. File a Corporate Tax return

  • Taxable Persons are obligated to submit a Corporate Tax return for each Tax Period within a timeframe of 9 months from the conclusion of the respective period. Typically, the same deadline also applies to the settlement of any Corporate Tax liabilities pertaining to the Tax Period for which the return is filed.

8. Maintain Compliance

  • After obtaining your corporate tax registration number, it is important to ensure ongoing compliance with tax regulations. This includes filing regular tax returns, maintaining accurate records, and fulfilling other tax obligations as per the FTA’s guidelines.
